And the most ever famous words…
“ok class, FIRST FIVE!!!”
These are the phrases that we’ve been hearing in our Chemistry class for the past 1st and a half quarter. 1st meeting of Chemistry class. Seatwork agad! All about significant figures and scientific notations. 2nd meeting. Dun namin nakilala ang teacher na nakasalamin at smart-looking [hehe] in the person of MS. JOYMIE ORBE. A teacher with great thoughts to share for all her students, a teacher who seriously disciplines her students, making them transform into RESPONSIBLE LEADERS in the future, a teacher who whole heartedly teaches what she knew to everyone with great dedication and excellence.
As a student, I never met any female teacher like Ms. Orbe who disciplines her students well and at the same time bring laughs and smiles to them, indeed a teacher with a great sense of humor. J
As an average student with average learnings, di rin ako nakakasabay sa favorite portion ng St. John na FIRST FIVE with Ms. Orbe, but like what she said, it’s ok not to be given points for that, as long as YOU UNDERSTAND IT, that time nung sinabi niya sa’min yun, I said to myself “I was never a slow-learner, I was never DULL.” This teacher inspires me more to study hard and never give up on NUMBERS.
The past weeks, nagtataka kami, Ms. Orbe was not attending at our class, more than 3 meetings yata yun… Naiisip ko, a siguro busy masyado o kaya may inaasikaso lang… But last September 18, at exactly 10:30 am, pumasok siya sa classroom ng St. John, and she’s teary-eyed… Pinabalik niya kami sa mga proper seats namin, at doon ako nagtaka, ‘tsk.nu kaya sasabihin ni Ms. Orbe? kinakabahan ako…’
Hanggang sa sinabi na niya ang dahilan... Aalis na siya’t lilipat sa Cavite with her family. I FEEL DEVASTATED. WE ALL FEEL DEVASTATED in what we’ve hear from her… Heavy drama ang nangyari sa classroom, ang hirap pang i-elaborate. But the bottomline: we never wanted her to leave… Oh well, kahit papano naman we have great and memorable times with her in our Chemistry class.
We will never forget her ‘greek words’, we will never forget her strategy for keeping us alive in her subject. We will never forget all my rushing classmates holding their pink notebooks just to be included in the first five. And lasty, we will never forget those HATS…
On the second meeting she said the meaning of black and yellow hat and promised that on the last day, she’ll reveal the other hats remaining… Now that she’ll be leaving…
